Who has not ever worn a wrap dress? Anyone? wrap dress appeared on podiums and won the hearts and silhouettes thanks to Diane von Furstenberg. She re-launched her fashion company , DVF, in 1997. The company is a global luxury lifestyle brand offering four complete collections a year. DVF is available in over 70 countries and 45 free-standing shops worldwide. The company’s headquarters and flagship boutique are located in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.
First of all I have to say that the wrap dress had been designed by Elsa Schiaparelli in the 1930s and Claire McCardell in the 1940s, whose original ‘popover’ design became the basis for a variety of wrap-around dresses. But Diane’s interpretation of the dress which was consistently knee-length, in a clinging jersey, with long sleeves was so popular that the style has become associated with her.
Take a look at the pictures below, these are just a few of the amazing variations of this dress in performances of several designers.
